- The Casualties "Can't Stop Us" (DVD) (2006)
Product Description
In 1982, two unknown punk bands named Social Distortion and Youth Brigade got in a converted school bus and embarked on one of the earliest documented punk rock tours. That experience was all chronicled in the documentary Another State Of Mind'and now, over two decades later, it finally has an apt sequel, The Casualties' Can't Stop Us. While the DVD you're holding may revisit a familiar theme, the incidents that New York's premiere street-punk band encounter along the way are anything but typical. Instead of sticking to major epicenters and hiding inside a luxurious tour bus like most bands their size, The Casualties take their music directly to the streets of Mexico and Japan'and if you're nervous watching parts of this film, well, think about what it must have been like to live it.
Can't Stop Us really showcases is the band's live show (and if you thought circle pits died in the '80s, think again), as well as their connection with their fans. From screen printing T-shirts in Jake's mom's garage to being one of the Vans Warped Tour's biggest acts, The Casualties, Jorge, Jake, Rick and Meggers, have accomplished more than any street-punk band in history over the past ten years ' and this DVD is a brief snapshot of what their lives were like in 2005.
