Re-release of Flogging Molly's live record
The title, Alive Behind The Green Door, stood as a testament to the band's desire to continue with Flogging Molly, even though three of the members performed with us for the last time. This album has one foot in the past and one firmly in the future. It built the first of many Flogging Molly bridges. Ironically, all current members of Flogging Molly (Nathen Maxwell, Robert Schmidt and Matt Hensley) were at those two shows, but for Dennis Casey. If you listen closely to the intro of 'Laura,' you'll hear someone sing before Dave. This was John Donovan who became our guitarist post- Alive Behind the Green Door recordings and through our first studio release Swagger. Dennis would be the last piece to the puzzle after John's departure and would form the band you know today.
With the release of Alive Behind the Green Door we wanted to thank the people who had come to see Flogging Molly every Monday night for all those years. The album gave the fans something to take home, and the band, a bridge to cross into the next part of our journey. The center of this booklet and the CD case contain the original artwork and Dave's original message to the fans.
